Wireless access points are available for laptop use in the Stuart Street building. Both workstations and circulating laptops print to our Pharos printing system.

The following software is available on our workstations: MS Office 2010, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, Cute PDF, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Reader, Quicktime Player, Real Player, Windows Media Player, Adobe Shockwave Player, Adobe Flash Player and McAfee Anti Virus.

Laptop Loaner Program:

The library has 13 Dell and 13 Mac laptops available for checkout at the circulation desk to be used within the Stuart Street building for a maximum of 3 hours. Students must sign a laptop user policy agreement to use library laptops. Click here to see the Use of Library Laptops. The circulating laptops have the capability to print to our networked printers. Laptops are due back 1/2 hour before the library closes.

Borrowers must adhere to the following terms of use:

  • Laptops must remain in the Stuart Street building and may not be left unattended unless secured with a laptop security lock.
  • No food or drink should be anywhere near the laptop while in your care.
  • All laptops have batteries and an AC adapter to plug into a wall outlet. We strongly recommend using the charger to avoid losing your work.
  • When finished, please power down by using the Start button; select Shut Down and click on OK.
  • Each laptop is accompanied by a DVD drive, power adaptor, electrical cord and a security lock. All of this equipment must stay with the laptop.
  • Circulating PC laptops have MS Office 2010, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, Cute PDF, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Reader, Quicktime Player, Real Player, Windows Media Player, Adobe Shockwave Player, Adobe Flash Player and McAfee Anti Virus.

  • No other software should be installed or downloaded to this equipment.
  • Laptops provide access to all internet and web-based resources, and printing is allowed to any library printer.
  • Each laptop has Cute PDF so that word documents can be converted to PDF documents. Click here for instructions.
  • Work should not be saved to public access desktops or laptops. Please save instead to either a cloud based service (Google Docs, ICloud etc) or email your document.
  • Problems with access or software should be reported promptly to the circulation desk assistant or reference librarian on duty.
